DemandEngine to Release Continuing Education Website and Secret Shopping Results

Lack of Content, Poor Placement, and No Reasons to Respond Plague CE Marketers

Savannah, GA - May 1, 2008 - DemandEngine, an interactive marketing agency for colleges and universities, announces that the findings of an original research study will be released at the upcoming Interactive Marketing Workshop for Continuing Education, July 28-29 in Atlanta, GA.

  

The research evaluates continuing education websites, online lead generation, and reveals the results of a secret shopping exercise involving over 50 continuing education units across the country. The study will be released at the workshop and reports on trends, missed opportunities, specific examples of success, and best practices for the most of a continuing education unit’s web presence.

“In a 2007 study, 70% of continuing education marketers listed their website as the most effective way to reach their audience. However, in a study conducted this spring by DemandEngine, we found that continuing education websites often fail to provide engaging or relevant content, do little to compel a response, and place poorly in both natural and paid search,” said Jennifer Copeland, instructor of the workshop and General Manager at DemandEngine. 

               

In addition to innovative research findings, the workshop also discusses: defining an interactive enrollment strategy, measuring return-on-investment for interactive strategies, leveraging interactive channels to improve their effectiveness, using data to better qualify prospective students, and improving relationship management capabilities.

The focus of this workshop is to provide guidance for continuing education executives and marketing professionals on compelling new ways to use interactive marketing channels such as search engine marketing, email, and social networking to better connect with today’s students.

Interactive Marketing Workshop for Continuing Education is being held at the UGA Atlanta Alumni Center in Atlanta, GA July 28- 29.
